Cecil Bryan Earp. Jr.

May 8, 1933 – August 8, 2014      Cecil Bryan Earp, Jr.  went to be with his Lord and Savior with his loving wife, Maxine M. Earp at his side on Friday, August 8, 2014.      He was a Korean and Vietnam War Veteran of the United States Air Force.  He honorably retired after 22 years of dedicated service. He was very active in the American Legion, serving as an Arkansas State Department Executive Committeeman. He also was active in the VFW and the Forty and Eight.      He was an active member of the 1St Baptist Church and of the Gideon Society.      He was well known around town as an avid Marathon runner and volunteer Track Coach at Camden Fairview High School for many years. He also ran in many local 5 and 10k races.  His last race was here in Camden on July 4, 2014.      He was born and raised in Lamar, MO and graduated from Lamar High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Southern Illinois Univ.      He is survived by his wife, Maxine M. Earp, of the home and four children Judy Earp, Julie Earp Rodriquez, David Earp and John Earp. He is also survived by three step children Teresa Calvert, Thomas Tadlock and Ronald Tadlock, seven grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and four step great grandchildren.      He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Bryan Earp, Sr., his mother Bessie Parrack Earp and his sister Emily Earp Harrison.      Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Proctor Funeral Home, Camden, AR.  Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Proctor Funeral Home.      Graveside service with full Military Honors will take place at 2:00 pm, Saturday, Aug. 16 at Lake Cemetery under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.
