Carl Jungmann Sr.

Carl Eugene Jungmann Sr., age 78, of Carthage, Missouri passed away January 10, 2021, at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, MO.   Carl was born March 22, 1942 in Lamar, MO to Carl and Orpha (Dixon) Jungmann. He graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1960 and served his country in the United States Army. Carl married Sandra Zaman-Nance and together they had seven children, and they later divorced. On April 25, 1999 Carl married Mary Margaret Allard-Strohl in New Orleans, LA.   Carl worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at O'Sullivan Industries for over 30 years and had owned Robertson's Dairy.  He was a former member of the Barton County Chamber of Commerce and the I.O.O.F.  He was part of the "Jungmann Club of Golfers" and enjoyed golfing, gardening, cooking, following Chief's Football, woodworking and doing mechanical work.   Survivors include his wife, Mary Jungmann, of the home; four sons and their wives, Tony (Sherri) Jungmann, Peculiar, MO, Carl (Deniece) Jungmann Jr., Liberal, MO, Brent (Gina) Jungmann, Columbia, MO, and John (Kerry) Jungmann, Springfield, MO; three daughters and their husbands, Kimberly (John) Wash, Panama City, FL, Kristina (Tom) Jones, Lamar, MO, and  April (Don) Garrison, Bedford, KY; one stepson, Matthew (Nancy) Strohl, Neosho, MO; three stepdaughters, Marie (Bill) Stringer, Oceanside, CA, Sarah (Marshall) Brown, Tucson, AZ, and Katie (Randy) Dunn, Neosho, MO; one brother, Paul (Marilyn) Jungmann, Independence, MO; two sisters, Doris Woods, Lamar, MO and Linda Gerke, Pilot Grove, MO; 28 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Additional survivors include two brothers-in-law, Anthony Filosa, Las Cruces, NM and Don Clements, Lamar, MO.   Preceding Carl in death were his parents; two sisters, Irene Filosa and Emily Clements and a brother-in-law, Paul Gerke.   Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Masks will be required in order to attend the service.   Contributions are suggested and made payable to Disabled American Veterans in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
