Brenda Purdy

Brenda Louise Purdy, age 57, of Lamar, Missouri died Friday, September 16, 2017 at Truman Healthcare Center.      Brenda was born February 22, 1960 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to Robert Lee and Evelyn Elizabeth (Phillip) Oberlin.  She was a high school graduate and of the Christian faith.  She had worked as a housekeeper at hotels until she became disabled due to illness.  Brenda had recently moved to Lamar from Arkansas to be close to her son during her illness.      Brenda is survived by a son and his wife Jet and Kristin Oberlin, Sheldon, MO; step - children Dale Froling, Coralynn Froling and Justin Floyd; her mother Evelyn Oberlin, Yuma, Tennessee; two brothers, Dennis Oberlin, Lansing, Michigan, and Gary Oberlin, Abilene, Texas; three sisters, Bonnie Oberlin, Dewitt, Michigan, Kathy Clark, Yuma, Tennessee, and Linda James, Haslett, Michigan; two grandchildren, Izzabell Oberlin, and Brayden Robertson.      Preceding her in death were her father, Robert Oberlin; a son, Eric Purdy and a daughter, Marybeth Purdy.      At her request, she was taken for cremation and the family will have a memorial service for her at a later date.
