Bob G. Roth

Robert “Bob” George Roth, age 64, of Lamar, died at his home Monday, December 10, 2013 after a long illness Bob was born February 3, 1949 at Roscoe, SD to George Vincent Roth and Lucy (Weron) Roth.  He attended school and graduated high school at Roscoe, SD.  On June 19, 1992, he married Wendy Ellen Norton at Aberdeen, SD and they relocated to Lamar 10 years ago.  He was a carpenter by trade and had most recently worked at Barton County Memorial Hospital in the maintenance department.  Bob loved working in his flower and vegetable gardens. Bob leaves behind his wife Wendy of the home; three step-sons, Henry Britton of Bartlett, KS, Clayton Britton of Santa Ana, NM, and Keno Phillips of Lamar, MO; one step-daughter, Yurlunda Thiel of Red Oak, IA; three brothers, Jim Roth of Des Moines, IA, Leroy Roth of DeSmet, SD, and Mark Roth of Pierre, SD; two sisters, Joann Malsom of Brookings, SD and Linda Waitter of Spearfish, SD; and eight grandchildren . Bob was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Daniel Funeral Home. Contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society in care of Daniel Funeral Home
