Bill E. Spurling

Billy Eugene Spurling, age 74, of Liberal, Missouri died unexpectedly at his home, Monday December 8, 2014.       Bill was born January 21, 1940 at Lamar, Missouri to Elbert and Ruby Hazel (Mallory) Spurling.  He graduated Liberal High School in 1957 and on October 21, 1959 he married Doreta Carol Butler at Liberal and she passed September 8, 2013.  He was a member of the Liberal Christian Church and loved to fish and camp.  Bill worked many years as a propane delivery driver for Heat Gas Company and Allstar Gas.       Bill leaves behind two sons, Terry (Brenda) Spurling, Frontenac, KS and Gary Spurling; one daughter, Lourie (Jeff) Long, Liberal; three brothers, Earl (Louetta) Spurling, Liberal, Merl (Carla) Spurling, Grantville, Kansas, and Kenneth (Diane) Spurling, Lawrence, Kansas; one sister, Betty Reagan, Winfield, Kansas; ten grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter.       Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, at Daniel Funeral Home, with burial following at Barton City Cemetery, Liberal, MO.       The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.       Contributions are suggested to Humane Society of Barton County in care of Daniel Funeral Home.       Condolences may be left at www.danielfuneralhome.net
