Betty Joann Moore

Betty Joann Moore, age 58, of Lamar, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 28, 2014 while attending a conference in Branson, Missouri.      Betty was born January 17, 1956 at Lamar to Donald and Mary Ann (Gearhart) Moore and graduated from Jasper High School in the class of 1975.     In addition to being a homemaker, she had worked at Lamar Enterprises for several years.  Betty was an active member of Oakton United Methodist Church.  She was an avid reader and delighted in her daughter, Sarah.      Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Beth Moore, of the home; and two sisters, Helen (Clint) Engelage, of Lamar, and Donna Bauer of Jasper; three nieces, Amy Bauer, Allison Atnip, and Emily Mankey.      A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11th at Oakton United Methodist Church with Pastor Kent Garfield officiating.      Memorial contributions are suggested to the Moore family, in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
