Betty Boles

Betty M. Boles, age 93, of Joplin, formerly of Lamar, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital.      Betty was born July 28, 1922, in Irwin, Missouri, the youngest of the four children of Barney and Myrtle (Garrett) Crockett.  On June 16, 1940, at Neosho, Missouri, she married Paul Boles and they owned and operated Boles Jewelry in Coffeyville, Kansas for many years.  Paul preceded her in death in 1983.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Walter and Everett Crockett; and a sister, Inez Quackenbush.      Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Annette) Boles of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kenny (Linda) Boles of Joplin; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Crockett Jones of Pittsburg, Kansas; four grandchildren, Felicia (Bill) Maher, Napa, California, Byron (Tracy) Boles, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Leigh Anne (Jeff) Johnson, Franklin, Indiana, Eric (Alison) Boles, Shawnee, Kansas; nine great grandchildren, Stefan, Anna, Mackenzie, Keaton, Grayson, Griffin, Sydney, Simon, and Sarah; and several dear nieces and nephews.      Betty’s family will gather for a private graveside funeral service conducted by Mike Gage at Howell Cemetery.  Friends may sign the guest book at Daniel Funeral Home.
