Berneta M. Abts

Berneta Marie Abts, age 89, of Liberal, Missouri, died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Truman Healthcare Center. Berneta was born October 21, 1929 in Gibbon, Nebraska to Harvey John Bayley and Claira (Rosenthal) Bayley. On June 28, 1948 she married Clarence Wesley Abts in Gibbon, Nebraska. She was a high school graduate and a member Liberal United Methodist Church where she was very active and had also sold AFLAC Insurance. Survivors include two sons, Allen (Corkie) Abts, and Mark (Carol) Abts; one daughter, Bonnie (Bill) Workman, all of Liberal, Missouri; one brother Rodney (Colene) Bayley, Springfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, a daughter Sharon Beth Abts in 1954, and a granddaughter, Shelli Abts in 2003. Service will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Liberal United Methodist Church with Larry Mills officiating. Contributions are suggested to Shelli Abts Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
