Ann Powell

Anna Mae Powell, age 65, of Lamar, Missouri, passed Thursday, December 22, 2016 at her home after an illness.      Ann was born May 19, 1951 in Jasper, Missouri to Loyal Lee Berryhill and Velma May (Smith) Berryhill.  She graduated Jasper High School in 1969 and on November 3, 1972 she married Walter E. Powell in Jasper. She earned an associates degree from Draughon Business College and worked at Lamar Bank and Trust for 44 years, just six months shy of 45 years, retiring early because of health issues.  Ann loved her grandchildren and enjoyed showing cars with her husband at car shows. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and was a good cook.  Ann was a member of Lamar First Baptist Church.      Ann is survived by her husband of 44 years; one son, Logan and his wife Becky Powell, of Lamar, Missouri; her parents, Loyal and Velma Berryhill, Jasper, Missouri; one brother, Carl and his wife Debbie Berryhill, Jasper, Missouri; one sister, Elene Fitchpatrick, Japser, Missouri; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Clayton, and Brady; and a sister-in-law, Shirley (Ernie) Metcalf of Lamar.      Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Robb Hodson officiating. Burial will follow in Iantha Cemetery.      The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.      Contributions are suggested to Children’s Mercy Hospital in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
