Albert Junior (AJ) McManis

Albert Junior (AJ) McManis, age 97, of Lamar, Missouri passed away September 24, 2022, at St. Luke's Nursing Center in Carthage, Missouri.
 
AJ was born July 22, 1925 in Greenfield, Missouri to William Albert McManis and Effie Ester Cleo (Berry) McManis. On December 2, 1946, AJ married Lena Justine Mayo in Bentonville, Arkansas. They were married for 75 years.

AJ worked for O'Sullivan Industries and was also a cattle farmer. He was a Mason and member of the VFW Post 3691.He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Lamar. 

Survivors include his wife, Justine; two sons, Robert (Carolyn) McManis and Gayland (Carla) McManis; one daughter, Judy Ferris, all of Lamar, MO.; nine grandchildren, Jenny (Chad) Moore, Chad (Jennie) McManis, Michael (Becky) McManis, Jerrad (Astra) Ferris, Linsey (Les) Brazeal, Brock (Tara) McManis, Justin (Misty) McManis, all of Lamar, Landon McManis of Valdosta, Georgia, and Brista (Justin) Poor of Springfield, Missouri; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; half-brother, Derl (Barbara) Jones of Peculiar, Missouri and a niece (who was more like a sister), Kathy (Jess) Lafon of Carthage, MO. 

Preceding AJ in death were his parents; son, Gary McManis; son-in-law, Larry Ferris; great-grandson, Jordan Ferris; great-great granddaughter, Lily McManis; one brother and four sisters.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Lamar, MO., with burial to follow at Lake Cemetery in Lamar, MO.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time, Wednesday at the church.
